Make a device register
Label each device so a volunteer can report a problem without describing “the other phone.” Record its intended entrance, operator, charging arrangement and handover owner. Do not include passcodes or private account information in that register. A spare device is useful only if someone knows whether it is prepared and how to bring it into the workflow. Treat an untested spare as untested, even if its battery is full.
Prepare the intended event
Ticket Tailor’s preparation guide requires selecting and downloading the relevant doorlist. Check that the device has the event and occurrence the operator will use. A successful installation or login does not establish that the correct ticket data is present. Repeat the preparation check when the event assignment changes. Record what was observed rather than relying on a memory that the phone worked during a different event last month.
Check the physical task
Use the actual lighting, screen brightness and handling arrangement where practical. A device that is awkward to hold while greeting someone can change the workflow even when the software is sound. Keep charging leads from obstructing circulation and follow the venue’s arrangements. This guide does not establish electrical or venue safety. The useful record is whether the operator can perform their authorized task comfortably and knows how to report a failure.
A fictional handover card
Device D2 is assigned to the side entrance, has the correct Saturday occurrence and has an identified charger. The card also states who checked it and when. When a replacement phone arrives, do not simply transfer the label and assume the result applies. Prepare and verify the replacement as a separate device. At the end of the event, return it through the agreed owner and remove access according to the organization’s process.
